Loved the decor w striped wallpaper. The booth we sat at was perfect for a tete-a-tete for two of us: the table was comfortably narrow enough and cozy so we could hear each other. Service was prompt and attentive and the food delicious. Jumbo shrimp special was wonderfully tasty (though expensive- $38). Tricolor salad crisp and clean with the perfect amount of dressing.
conveniently located near chambers st subway stop.
I was there for dinner in the middle of the week. the service was impeccable. the food, while pricey, wasn't amazing and the ambiance was a little too dark to really be able to see what you were eating or to see the menu easily (i'm young, with 20/20 vision). i ordered the seafood salad appetizer, which was large and filling, but overdressed (it is served cold and the seafood bits are drenched in a lot of oil). I then had the pasta with clams in a white "sauce" which just meant spaghetti tossed in olive oil and garlic--very dry. However, my companion enjoyed her dish. The service really redeemed the quality of the food.
The food and service were excellent as always!
Food was excellent, service was very good, the live background music a nice unexpected surprise. Though we were a group of 5 women, it is a nice hideway, romantic venue.
This restaurant was exactly as it was described. It was old style italian with great food and lots of charm. We ordered a chicken dish, veal and shrimp. Everyone loved their meal. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
